We LOVE & Value our Volunteers!
Our charity is run and managed by a group of dedicated, passionate volunteers. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our Hearts for Africa community. Without them, this organisation wouldn’t exist.
Volunteering is a positive way to make an incredible difference that will profoundly impact entire communities in Tanzania! Whether you have a few hours a week or able to help for one hour a month, we would love to have you on team. Enthusiasm and a desire to help are the only qualifications needed.

What Hearts for Africa does in Australia and how you can help.
All Hearts for Africa efforts are by volunteers – management and administration team, event organisers and helpers, and our thrift shop workers.
Tax deductible donations: We have both regular and occasional donors. Some give to general funds and some sponsor students for school fees. Sponsoring a student is a long-term commitment. If you would like to do this, contact us on info@heartsforafrica.org.au for more information.
Another way to commit annually to the continuation of the Amani program is to join the Amani Stalwarts, giving $365 per year towards maintenance of buildings and buses. If you are willing to do this, contact us on info@hertsforafrice.org.au for more information
Fund raising events/activities: Recently these have included a musical afternoon (the Soiree), high tea, raffle, trivia night, sausage sizzle. We value your willingness to help with these when arranged. (Contact info@heartsforafrica to volunteer and find out what is happening).
You may have ideas on what else could be done. Could you arrange an activity yourself e.g. morning tea or lunch?
Some schools have raised funds to support students at the Prince of Peace school through activities that have included Mother’s Day stalls, no-uniform days, movie nights. This is a valuable way for students here to learn about and link with students in a less developed country.
Containers for Change is another fundraising activity. Simply drop off your cans & bottles at your local depot and provide the Code C11378235.
Hearts for Africa thrift shop: Since 2007 the Hearts for Africa Thrift Shop, run entirely by volunteers, has operated at Sunnybank. It is a lot of work, but it has contributed upwards of $30 000 annually towards construction and running of the Prince of Peace School. Donations of saleable goods are always welcome or you might like to offer to help more directly (contact info@heartsforafrica.org .au)
In-Kind Donation
Our organisation is strengthened by generous business men and women who are wanting to give back using their professional skills. We are always open to discussing how you can contribute, whether you’re an event manager, a marketing guru, a graphic designer or something else. We’d love to hear from you!
